King Creosote

With special guests

King Creosote returns to the International Festival as part of Light on the Shore with Edinburgh Gin Seaside at Leith Theatre.

King Creosote, aka Kenny Anderson, returns to the International Festival three years after he performed his glorious soundtrack to the nostalgia-soaked film, From Scotland With Love album as part of 2015’s Hub Sessions. This time, Kenny will perform a goosebump-giving set of his hooky, plaintive folk-rock, dipping into his back catalogue of hits and previewing fresh material from his upcoming album. The co-founder of the much-loved micro-indie label, Fence Records, and a key figure in the Scottish folk scene, Kenny lives in the peaceful East Neuk of Fife, in the fishing town of Anstruther. Signed to Domino Records, the cult folk hero followed up 2011's Mercury Prize-nominated Diamond Mine, produced in collaboration with Jon Hopkins, with 2016’s Astronaut Meets Appleman, a reminder of his astonishing vocals and ability to create spine-tingling moments of fuzzy folk-pop.

With support from singer-songwriter Iain Morrison and Scottish folk musician Hamish Hawk.
