Sustainability Policy

The Edinburgh International Festival is committed to monitoring our environmental impact and increasing sustainability. We strive for continuous improvement by reducing the impact of our operations on the environment through our own work and also through working with our venues.

All staff are expected to work towards reducing waste and increasing sustainability through measures laid out in the organisation's staff handbook and promoted through the sustainability working group. We welcome suggestions on how to improve our practices from all members of staff.

We also encourage our visitors, performers, suppliers and partners to consider their impact on the environment.

Green Arts Initiative

Green Arts Initiative

We, along with our home The Hub and the majority of our venues, are members of the Green Arts Initiative.

It is an accreditation scheme that enables us to become greener in our activities, and become part of a growing network of arts and culture organisations trying to reduce their environmental impact.
